Jain University, Bangalore, and SRM, Chennai dominated the badminton team events Khelo India University Games 2021 won 2 Golds, and 1 Silver & 1 Bronze respectively.
The Khelo India University Games 2022 began on April 24 in Bengaluru and the national competition will last till May 3. The event is an inter-university meet in which 3800 athletes from various universities across the nation compete in 275 medal events from 20 sports.
Badminton Team events had started on 23rd Apr and the finals were held on 27th Apr 2022 at Jain Sports School, Bangalore, Karnataka.
Women's Team
Another University from Tamilnadu Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU), won the Silver medal and lost to Jain University in the finals in straight 0 - 2. MKU's star player Varshini Viswanath won 4 of her 5 matches and made the team to the finals.
Jain University reaches the final by beating the SRM 2 - 0, and SRM is satisfied with Bronze. Despite the absence of Malvika Bansod, SRM, the performance of Kavipriya in Singles and Nila and Tanushree in Doubles helped the team to settle in the semi-finals.
Tanya Ananth's Zero loss performance in Singles, and Janani and Drithi's dominance in Doubles made Jain's task easier to taste the Khelo Badminton Women's Team Gold.

Men's Team
Best balanced rivals of University Badminton Men's Team, SRM and Jain faced at Finals. Jain won the Gold by beating SRM in the rubber 3 - 2. SRM's Arunesh and Rithwik Sanjeevi made the team in splendid lead 2 - 0 by winning both singles. Jain University covered the lead as 2 - 2 by beating SRM in both doubles. Kavin Thangam of SRM fought well in the Singles, and his effort went loose and failed against Jain player Shanahan as 21-19, 16-21, 17-21. Finally, the thriller ends up in the favour of Jain's.
