Star Performances of India No.1 Malvika Bansod and Rithwik Sanjeevi helped SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai to dominate the Men's and Women's Badminton Team Championships of South Zone Inter University Tournament 2022 held at Jain University, Bengaluru during the November 2022.
SRM Men's team faced the defending champion, host and tournament favorite Jain University in the final, and bagged the maiden South Zone Inter University Championship.
In the absence of World No. 80 Sathishkumar K and India No.1 duos Ruban & Hariharan, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore settled for third place.
The team of Arjun Krishnan, ,Sidhanth Gupta, Sabareeshwaran, Nisanth Dhuraisamy, Mouriyan, Rithwik Sanjeevi, and Arunesh won the Jain University by 3 - 2.
SRM's physical director Dr.YC Louis Raj and the coach Mr.Maran appreciate the teathe ms' performances and hinted that the performances will continue in the national circuit too.
Earlier, the SRM Women's team of Malvika Bansod, Kavipriya Thanushree, Nila, and Pranavi outs Rayalaseema University, AP in the finals to win the South Zone Inter University Championship. Jain University and the University of Madras conceded third and fourth places respectively.
