The Income Tax Department, Odisha Region, has announced Sports Quota Recruitment 2026, offering 12 Central Government vacancies for meritorious sportspersons.
The vacancies include:
Tax Assistant – 7 Posts
Stenographer Grade-II – 1 Post
Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) – 4 Posts
Badminton is one of the officially recognized sports eligible for recruitment under this notification. However, there is no separate quota exclusively for badminton players. Athletes from badminton and other recognized sports will compete based on their sports achievements and merit.

Who Can Apply?
Sportspersons who have represented:
India in International competitions
States in National Championships
Universities in Inter-University tournaments
State teams in School National Games
Khelo India competitions
are eligible to apply, subject to educational and age requirements.
Important Point for Players
The notification clearly states that all sports achievements earned up to 31 March 2026 will be considered. This means players can include their achievements from previous years, provided they have valid supporting certificates.
