Sathish Kumar clinches his First BWF Super 100 title and Ashwini & Taneesa ahead of the Paris Race

World #61 India #6 Men's Singles Star Sathish Kumar K registered his first BWF 100 title Odisha Open 2023 at Cuttack, Odisha, India on 18th December and India #2 Ashwini Ponnappa Taneesha Crasto won Silver in Women Doubles to become tight competitors of Road to Paris.



After the disappointments from the BWF 300 Syed Modi and BWF 100 Guwahati Masters, Sathish registered his strong comeback in the Odisha Open and his recent form after winning the Infosys and Chattisgarh Challenges and the Gold from Odisha Masters will make him close to the World Top 50 hallmark in the coming week. He has beaten his counterpart Ayush Shetty in the Odisha Masters finals in deciding 21 18, 19 21, 21 14.


World # 24 Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto ahead of India's No.1 Women's Doubles pair Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly in the race to Paris Olympic. After the Silver medals from the BWF Super 300 Syed Modi International, BWF 100 Odisha Masters, and a Gold from BWF 100 Guwahati Masters, Tanisha Ashwini ensures their chance at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics next year. It is the third consecutive podium finishing for the pair during the last two months who have an age difference of 14 years.



Tanisha Crasto backed the Gold of Mixed Doubles with Dhruv Kapila and Krishna Prasad Sai Pratheek settled for Silver in Men's Doubles.
