Since 2018, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) has designed a new world event called the BWF World Tour, a set of 26 tournaments held in a calendar year. Now it has been increased to 30 tournaments.
The players ranked in the top-eight after the conclusion of those 30 tournaments are invited to play a tournament called the BWF World Tour Finals at the end of the year, which crowns a champion.
The rankings for the BWF World Tour are slightly different from how the badminton world rankings are calculated.
While the world rankings take into account the points accumulated over the preceding 52 weeks, the BWF World Tour Rankings are only calculated by the players’ performance in the 30 BWF World Tour events.
In addition to these 31 Super events including World Tour Finals, BWF Super 100 tournaments list will be updated shortly. The existing list of Super 100 events are given, India Odisha Open, France Orleans Masters, Japan Akita Masters, Vietnam Open, Canada Open, and Indonesia Masters.
BWF Super 100, BWF International and Future series will help the international players to gain tournament ranking points which will make them to qualify for BWF World Tour Events.
India has two World Tour Tournaments and is hosting each one 100, International and Future series tournaments.
More Super 100, International and Future series and equivalent Junior Tournaments are required to be hosted in India and its neighborhood countries.
More such tournaments in the Sub continent region will fuel the upcoming Indian players by gaining more ranking points with less efforts. European region has more Super 100, International, Future series tournaments which helps the players to qualify for Major World Tour events and in top 100 World Ranking.
More Junior, International, and Future series tournaments from European region will be the prime factor for the future badminton of European countrie.
